About Gerry Morgan
Creating something all of my life. My mom put me on the potty chair, handed me a clot of her raw pie dough, and I was making art. When I was bored with the pie dough, she presented me with a small black board and chalk. I progressed to crayons. Then to a box of velvety creamy colors that needed water to make them sing. I can still recall my favorite of that box - - deep sea teal color. By the time I started school, a kind relative introduced me to Mr.Jon Nagy. I received his learn to draw box, and I was in heaven! Then, as the grades progressed, I was drawing bible lessons for the nuns, and drawing the Bambi on the Art Institute application found on the back cover of every comic book and in Sunday paper.
Are you following this? Can you see this developing story? Yeah well, art was play. You can't feed yourself or a family playing around with crayons. So my art was set aside for nursing school. Thirty seven years have passed. After retiring, going through Maslow's or somebody's hierarchy of ageing, stagnation verses generativity, depression and pity parties, here I am discussing my joyful potty training experience and using pixels to create my art.
I hope you all enjoy my contributions, because I enjoyed creating each and every one. They are my children.
